These terms govern the referral program operated by Attainer, Inc. doing business as San Francisco Data. Submitting a referral means you agree to them, alongside our Terms of Service. Where anything else on this page summarizes the program, these terms control.
1. What qualifies
A referral counts if it comes through the form on this page, we are not already in discussions with the company, and you have a genuine relationship with them. The first person to refer a company holds the claim for twelve months from submission; the reference ID issued when you submit is the record of it. You may not refer a company you own, control, or work for. Employees and contractors of Attainer, Inc. are not eligible, and neither is anyone submitting on their behalf.
2. When you're paid
A reward is earned only after all of the following: the referred company signs a written engagement with us, the data clears rights review and legal diligence, a buyer executes a purchase under a signed agreement (“sale” throughout these terms includes a license of the company’s data), and the buyer’s payment clears. If the process stops before that, no reward is earned. We decide qualification in good faith and our determinations are final. Nothing in the program obligates us to engage any referred company. Milestone updates tell you where your payout stands; everything else about the engagement stays confidential between us and the referred company.
3. How much
The reward is 1% of the referred company’s first completed sale, with a minimum of US$1,000 and a maximum of US$100,000. The sale amount is what the buyer actually pays under that first signed agreement, counting the first twelve (12) months of a deal that pays over time; payments that are refunded or reversed don’t count, and our records govern the calculation. We pay within thirty (30) days of the buyer’s payment clearing. If the buyer pays in parts, we pay your 1% in matching parts, each on the same clock, and the first part always brings you to at least the US$1,000 minimum. Before paying, we may require a tax form (such as IRS Form W-9 or W-8BEN), payment details, and your countersignature on a short confirmation of these terms, and you are responsible for any taxes. One reward per referred company unless we agree otherwise in writing.
4. Conduct
Referrals must come from real relationships, not purchased lists or bulk outreach. Do not make commitments on our behalf; the terms of any engagement are between us and the referred company. If a referred company asks not to be contacted, we honor that and the referral lapses. A reward obtained through misrepresentation is forfeited, and we may recover anything already paid on it.
5. The rest
We may change or end the program at any time, prospectively only: a submitted referral is governed by the terms in effect when it was submitted. The program is a marketing arrangement, not an agency, employment, or partnership relationship, and it does not authorize you to act for us. Rewards are not transferable, and the program is void where prohibited by law. Information you submit is used to evaluate and pursue the referral, and is handled under our Privacy Policy.
